This is a copy of the actual postcard that I'm sending to my clients about a week before Christmas. The postcard offers a free Christmas gift that my clients can take advantage of or they can get an extra special bonus whenever we come to their home to do any cleaning.
This is a salesletter I used a few years ago to trade-out with a couple restaurants. We cleaned their carpet and tile, and they gave us gift certificates in the amount of the cleaning. I suggest making up special gift certificates for that are only charged to your account when they are redeemed. Explain to them the value of giving your client a gift certificate that brings them into their store and how they are apt to spend more than the certificate. For instance, in a restaurant where the average dinner is $100, offer $50 certificates to your clients. When your client redeems the certificate, the restaurant charges your account.
I've used this letter to "win" a few restaurant accounts. I'd typically get one response for every 20 or so I'd send out. That's great for response rate. The thing you'll need to do it follow up by This letter is written specifically for a restaurant. However, it can easily be changed to fit any commercial building by replacing the word "restaurant" with "office" or bulding. Perhaps I may include another version of this next month.
